Currently, there is road construction on GTTS Road. Those taking our weekday, morning GTTS Shuttle will only be able to ride about 6 miles from Lake McDonald Lodge to Avalanche. It is relatively flat with beautiful views of the mountains and multiple overlooks of the river (but you'll only get about 12 miles of total riding in, which is fine for many). If you're limited to a weekday morning shuttle, and you'd like to get more miles in, consider cycling the Camas Road. The GTTS road construction crews stop working in the afternoon, and our afternoon shuttle to GTTS will allow you to ride about 13 miles from Lake McDonald Lodge, or about 3 miles past the loop (approx. 26 miles round trip). THERE IS NO ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON THE WEEKENDS AND THE GTTS IS OPEN TO THE FURTHEST PLOWING. Clear as mud? Give us a call with questions! 406.212.0080.
Enjoy this "Bucket List" cycling experience with the Whitefish Shuttle! We will pick you up at a local bike shop or your hotel in Whitefish, Kalispell, or Columbia Falls and safely and comfortably bring you to Avalanche Lake Trailhead, the start of your Going to the Sun Road cycling adventure. Whitefish Shuttle is proud to be the first holder of the bike shuttle commercial use authorization at Glacier National Park. Click here for further information on cycling Going to the Sun Road.
We can shuttle you to Apgar Village for a Red Bus Tour. Click here for further information on booking a Red Bus Tour.
While it is hard to beat cycling Going to the Sun Road, the Camas Road experience is not to be missed. Currently closed to vehicles, this is an excellent choice for early season cycling in the park! Enjoy majestic views of mountains, rivers, and Lake McDonald while you cycle through Glacier National Park! Click here for more information about cycling the Camas Road.
