Lion Mountain Trailhead will be the first stop on the West Shuttle. The trails at Lion Mountain provide access to a scenic overlook as well as loop options for quick excursions. Looking for a family fun option, head to Lion Mountain Trailhead. There is a fun, rolling, 3 mile loop that makes for a perfect quick hike or bike. After traveling through the dry montane, yet botanically diverse forest, you are rewarded with a sweeping vista overlook of Skyles Lake. There are picnic tables, view points, a fun area for kids to run around, and restrooms. This is a great jumping off point for an out and back heading north towards Beaver Lakes. The second stop on the West Shuttle is Spencer Mountain. The 2,500 acre Spencer area is filled with miles of user-built historic trails and gated roads. Cross-country cyclists, hikers and equestrians enjoy gorgeous views from the ridge tops while free riders enjoy the adrenaline filled technical trails. Here you will find an advanced freeride trail network and an 8 mile single-track Whitefish Trail connector loop circumnavigating the Spencer Mountain area. Beaver Lakes Trailhead is the third and final stop of the West Shuttle. Pristine waters and beautiful forests await you when you hop of the Whitefish Shuttle at this stop! With over seven lakes, numerous vistas, and several loops, there is so much to explore near the the Beaver Lakes Trailhead. This is an ideal family-friendly area to ride or hike. Or if you'd like to do a fun cycle or hike back to town, being dropped off at Beaver Lakes would make a fun one way excursion.
