With Going to the Sun Road closed weekdays to hikers and bikers starting June 22nd, the Camas Road is an excellent option to get park views while still riding on a road!
Cycle Camas Road Shuttle
Our Camas Road Shuttle leaves from Kalispell and Whitefish and takes you up the scenic North Fork Valley. We will drop you at the intersection of the North Fork Road and the Camas Road. From there, it is approximately 12 miles each way of paved road. There is a climb in the first couple miles, then it levels out as you cycle past various road side interpretive signs. There are vehicles on the road this time of the year, but this road is far less traveled than Going to the Sun Road. Once you arrive in Apgar, you can visit Apgar Village and get a cold drink or maybe a huckleberry shake! Coming back from Apgar, there is an approximately 800 foot climb over the first couple miles. It then levels out with a fun downhill at the end. Enjoy views of Glacier National Park while coasting back out to our meet point.
The North Fork Shuttle departs at either 8:30am or 3:00pm.
Be sure to wear layers and plan on weather especially during the spring. *Entrance into Glacier National Park is not included.
Pricing is round trip with approximately two and a half hours available for your ride. If you sign up as a solo traveler, and we can't get additional riders, you can either cancel, or pay solo fare and still go. Once we have more than 1 traveler, this trip is considered confirmed.
2-3: $129 pp
4-14: $82 pp
Help fill your shuttle by calling in advance to arrange your preferred date and time. Once booked, Whitefish Shuttle will promote trips to get additional riders to help lower your cost. If we can't get additional riders, you can either cancel and receive a full refund, or pay solo fare and still go.
A trip is confirmed once we book 2 or more passengers. Once a trip is confirmed, cancellations prior to 72 hours of the event will receive a full refund. No refunds if cancelled within 72 hours of the event.
The Camas Road is a "don't miss" ride in Glacier National Park! We have bear spray for sale if you forget to bring. Also, dress in layers as the weather can change rapidly, and bring rain gear just in case. This road is open to vehicles.
